We’re The Women
We’re the Women is an art exhibition that is inspired by our new brand identity and celebrates the heart of WAGEC - women supporting women. 16 leading female illustrators from around Australia have each donated a bespoke artwork that celebrates WAGEC’s approach to working with women and families in crisis.
Signed and numbered high-quality art prints, as well as small-batch poster prints, will be available to purchase on the night, and online prior to the exhibition. We will also be selling raffle tickets on the night. Every dollar raised will be directed to our support services helping women and children in crisis.
For 42 years, Women’s and Girls’ Emergency Centre (WAGEC) has been creating safe spaces for women* and families in crisis. Our clients have been impacted by homelessness, domestic violence and systemic disadvantage. We work in partnership with our communities to create enduring change in these times of crisis through safety, housing and support.
Each night we are accommodating 200 women and children.
Our services include crisis accommodation, a specialised domestic violence support service after hours, emotional and practical case management support, enriching activities for children and young people, pathways to training, education and employment, and programs that support and nurture recovery from trauma. Working holistically with our clients, we find creative housing and support solutions that meet their needs and empower them to take control of their own lives.
Generosity from individuals and groups in our communities allows us to deliver services to our clients that help them to create a future that is truly safe and free from violence.
